Hello everyone, I am Nancy, I am six years old. I am in grade one of the forth railway primary school.

I have a lot of hobbies, i like writing, singing and drawing. I like outdoor sports activities very much. Every weekend,my mom takes me out to do some sports,sometimes we climb mountains,sometimes we ride the skateboard,and sometimes we go skating.

PE is one of my favorite subject, but the PE class in my school always upset me,that is because our school is rebuilding now so we have to have the PE class in a kindergarten nearby.

It is a small yard,so every class we have to run twenty circles, it makes me so dizzy! Luckily, our new school will be ready very soon.

I can learn in my new school in this September ,at that time we will have a big and beautiful playground ,and i'm so happy that our PE class will be more interesting . Also i hope we can have the sportmeeting this fall! Tell you a secret I have never attend a sportmeeting and I'm so looking forward of it!

大家上午好！

首先非常感谢各位能从百忙之中抽出时间来参加本次家长会，这是对我们学校和班级工作的大力支持，谢谢！今天这个家长会，是为了给我们学校和家长提供一个面对面交流学习的平台。

而我呢，在这，不讲什么条条框框的大道理。因为我比较年轻，我认为，在座的各位都比我更有阅历，更有经验。我在这呢，只是跟各位聊聊，交流交流。

第一，我想解决在座家长的一个困惑。

我相信，大多数家长都已看到过前段时间出台的英语考试改革政策，而昨天也正式出台政策就是20xx年英语将正式退出新高考。那在这，各位就不禁要问，英语还有用吗？还有必要学吗？而我的回答是肯定的，当然不是因为我是英语老师，我才这样说。首先，大家可以看到现在是个国际化的社会，在当今社会，与外界的交流，最广泛运用的官方语言依然是英语，在各种国际大会时用的最多的还是英语。像我们的，在5日出访埃塞俄比亚时，与当地就是直接用英语交谈的。而我也相信，各位家长还是希望自己的孩子以后能走出去，看看更广阔的世界，而这时，懂得一门通用的语言是显得尤其重要的。不说以后孩子为了更好的分数，为了更好的学校而学英语，就为自己个人的发展，学习英语也就相当于学习了一门技能。其次，现在大学里很多专业都还是要求英语基础的，甚至有些科目直接是英文版的。孩子的专业影响以后孩子的就业，如果你的孩子选择的专业就是这样的一门需要英语的专业，现在这个时候，你还会对他说，英语不用考了，学了没用的话吗？再次，我讲一件真事。这个五一假，我一个在银行工作的姨妈来三亚玩，期间，她谈起前段时间错失了个很好的机会。原来香港的东亚银行的长沙分行里，有个职位她极有可能进去，但唯一令人遗憾的是她不懂英语。言语之间，不无失落。

在这呢，我也就是想告诉各位家长，在这样的困惑面前，作为家长的我们应该对英语持一个什么样的态度，因为你的看法会在很大程度上影响孩子的观点。如果你都不重视，孩子就更不会重视了。不管怎样，学习知识不会有错，也许这个知识还会成为影响你孩子以后事业的一项技能。

第二，我想给大家念个故事，也许有些家长曾经看到过这个故事，但请允许我在这用几分钟再念念这个故事。

有位母亲第一次被儿子所在的幼儿园请去开家长会，幼儿园的老师对母亲说 ：“你的儿子有多动症，在板凳上连三分钟都坐不了，你最好带他去医院看一看。

回家的路上，儿子问母亲老师都说了些什么？母亲鼻子一酸，差点流下泪来。因为全班30位小朋友，惟有自己的儿子表现最差；惟有对自己的儿子老师表现出不屑。然而，她还是这样告诉了自己的儿子：“老师表扬你了，说宝宝原来在板凳上坐不了一分钟，现在能坐三分钟了。其他的妈妈都非常羡慕妈妈了，因为只有宝宝进步了。”

那天晚上，儿子破天荒地吃了两碗米饭，并且没有让大人喂。

儿子上小学了。母亲再次去参加学校召开的家长会。老师对母亲说“全班50名同学，这次数学考试，你儿子排名49名，我们怀疑你儿子智力是不是有些障碍，你最好带他去医院查一查。”

回去的路上，母亲流下了泪水。然而，当她回到家里，十分亲切的对坐在桌前的儿子说：“老师对你充满信心。老师说了，你并不是个笨孩子，只要能细心些，你一定会超过你的同桌，这次你的同桌排在第21名。”

说这话时，她发现儿子暗淡的眼神一下子充满了光，沮丧的脸也一下子舒展开来。她甚至发现，儿子温顺得让她吃惊，好象长大了许多。第二天一早上学时，儿子走得比平时都要早。

孩子上了初中，学校又一次召开家长会。她坐在儿子的.座位上，等着老师点她儿子的名字，因为每次家长会，她儿子的名字总是在差生的行列中被点到。然而，这次却出乎她的预料，直到会议结束，都没听到。母亲反倒有些不习惯。临散会，母亲去问老师，老师告诉她：“按你儿子现在的成绩，考重点中学还不太把握。”

母亲怀着欣喜的心情走出校门，此时她发现儿子在等她，路上她扶着儿子的肩膀，心理有一种说不出的甜蜜。她告诉儿子：“班主任对你非常满意，老师说了，只要你努力，很有希望考上重点高中。”

儿子高中毕业的那年。那是第一批大学录取通知书下达的日子，学校打来电话让儿子到学校去一趟，母亲此时有一种预感，儿子有可能被清华大学录取了，因为在报考时，她给儿子说过，她相信自己的儿子有能力考取这所学校。

儿子从学校回来了，把一封印有清华大学招生办公室的特快专递交到她的手里之后，突然转身跑到自己的房间里大哭起来。边哭边说：“妈妈，我一直都知道，其实我并不是一个非常聪明的孩子，是您这些年来始终的鼓励”

这时，母亲悲喜交加，再也按捺不住十几年来凝聚在心中的泪水，任它打湿在手中的信封上。

通过这个故事，我想各位家长也能明白我的意思，就是对孩子要进行赏识教育，不要用全世界孩子的优点去比孩子身上的缺点，多鼓励鼓励孩子，并且真正花心思在孩子身上。有很多家长会说，一直都忙，没时间管。这我们能理解，但孩子是你的，不是学校的，作为老师我们一定会尽职尽责地教育孩子，而家长也是孩子的第一教师。有调查证明，作为父母的我们只要每天有15分钟的时间是完完全全陪着孩子的，这个孩子的成长也会不一样的。这个陪是指父母在这15分钟时间里不做任何与孩子的无关的事，比如坐在孩子身边玩手机，看电脑等，这也是不行的。同时，在陪伴孩子时，多夸夸孩子，但也不要为了夸孩子而夸孩子，太容易得到的东西往往不会让人懂得珍惜。

第三，我建议各位家长，多多培养孩子的阅读习惯。前段时间，我们接受了一个来自北京的教育专家的培训，他说他没有手机，也不让孩子接触任何什么Ipad、Iphone等电子产品。不过，在这样一个信息化的时代，不让孩子接触这些，确实有些难做到，但是我们可以在另一方面多多培养孩子的其他习惯。读书能修身养性，我们可以陪着孩子一起读。阅读，对一个人的影响不是一时的，而是一生的。在这呢，英语就有个阅读要求，而这个读，是读出声的。就是每周的必须要完成的作业，家长也许都知道，每周学生回去要到家长那将所学过的课文从头至尾读一遍给家长听。在这呢，我希望家长不要忽视这十几分钟，即使你听不懂也希望你能耐心听孩子读完。这不仅是对所学知识的巩固，也是锻炼孩子的口头表达能力。毕竟英语是门语言，要说出来才行。

Honorable judges, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen: It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English language. About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me. While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails,but one who never quits.”

I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!

As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference! Thank you.
