I am just one person.
What can I do for the mother earth?
The environment is becoming worse and worse.
We need fresh air to breathe.
We need pure water to drink.
We need a clean environment to live a healthy life.
But if we do nothing, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.
We don’t have too much money.
Our Influence may be insignificant.
But we can try our best to protect the environment.
This is what we should do.
A few months ago, I became a volunteer of the famous Environmental Protection Organization——Greenpeace.
And I joined the activity named “One Earth Hour”
Earth Hour started in Australia with millions of homes and businesses turning their lights off for one hour.
Now it has grown to become one of the world’s biggest climate change initiatives.
People are all joining together in a global effort to show that it’s possible to take action on global warming.
From my point of view, Earth Hour is a message of hope and a message of action.
And we should believe that everyone can make a difference.
First, everyone must get involved.
Everyone must lend a hand.
Together we can clean up our neighborhoods.
Second, we can practice conservation.
We can reduce wastes and reuse them.
We can recycle papers, bottles, and plastics.
Third, we can put up more "Don't litter" signs.
We can lay trashcans in every corner.
We can pick up garbage when we see it.
We can take actions to fight against pollution.
It's our future that we're protecting.
It's our duty to keep our planet clean.
So, please don't be a litterbug.
Don't be afraid to remind others, too.
If every student who is driven to school can take bus or ride bicycle to school once a week,we can make a difference.
If every car owner goes to work in a car pool once a week, we can make a difference.
If everyone can actively protect the environment in our daily life, the blue sky, green grass, fresh air and clean water will back to our life once again.

Some of you coming here today will perhaps pursue further studies, while others will most probally try to find a suitable job. However ,No matter which one you select. Learning english is absoultelly necessary and important to you !
All right ! let’s get down to business, what i will talk next is speaking english out and persistence.
English ----it is just a language!
Speaking is the best way to learn a language!
It is not enough to just understand what you read!
Nor is it enough to just understand what you hear?
You can only master a language by speaking!
You can only learn something by speaking!
So ,if you want to improve your oral english,you’d better have awarness of speaking english in your mind. In other words, all you have to do is to take every chances you can speak english!
I’d like to piont out that learing english requires persistence! And persistence produces miracles!
The secret to success is just two words. You know? You know? Maybe! But what I say is TO PERSISTENCE!
To persist even when others don’t understand!
To persist even when many people object!
To persist even when you suffer adversity!
To persist even when all the others give up!
To persist still longer and longer even when you feel you can’t sustain it!

大家好！
我竞聘的岗位是初中英语教师岗位，竞聘这一岗位的理由如下：
一、思想政治方面
本人热爱祖国、热爱人民、拥护中国共产党的领导，忠诚党的教育事业。
二、职业道德方面
严格履行中小学教师职业道德规范，为人师表，严格遵守岗位制度，严格恪守人民教师的职业道德，积极参加公益事业。
三、业务方面
从教多年来，从未间断过继续教育学习，取得了英语本科学历，计算机甲级乙等，县、市级骨干教师培训证，英特尔教师培训证等。
四、教育教学工作能力
1、胜任英语教学工作，在联考中我所任教班级的英语成绩名列前茅；曾在全县初三英语教师会上做了经验交流；先后三次参加通化县区域教研教改公开课，受到同行们的好评，并被xxx教师进修学校授予“课改优质课”的光荣称号。
2、胜任班主任工作，特别是转变脏乱差班级的管理方面，取得了极大的成绩，被评为市级优秀教师。
3、胜任教研组长工作，能够协调好领导和老师之间的关系，团结协作，做好教研组长工作。历年来我们组都是第一个开展教研课，各顶活动都走在最前面，得到上级领导的肯定，多次被评为优秀教师。
4、跟据自已的教学实践，本人撰写了《“争鸣法”在农村中学复习测试中的运用》、《英语教学中的“画龙点睛”》、《采用任务型教学让学生感受成功》等等。
5、尽管我是从教多年的英语教师，有着一定的工作经验和成绩，但我绝不会满足于已取得的微薄成绩，我会竭尽全力把学生教好，将英语教学搞好。
综上所述，本人符合竞聘中学英语教师岗位所具备的条件和素质，故向各位评委和老师提出申请。
如果我能够竞聘上这个岗位，我打算从以下几个方面改进自已的教学工作，提高自已的`教学水平。
a）更加科学规范地做好日常教学工作，认真落实教学常规工作，确保教学质量稳中有升。
b）顺应教学改革方向，积极参加教学改革。根据英语学科的特点，我打算开展“任务型教学”实验活动，把学习者个人的生活经历作为课堂学习的主要资源，力图将课堂内的语言学习与课堂外的语言活动结合起来。
c）结合英语学科特点和学生实际情况，配合学校的校本教研，设计并开展丰富多采的英语实践活动，进一步拓展学生的视野，培养学生各方面能力。
d）加强个人修养，练好基本功。进一步树立自已强烈的事业心和责任感，加强自已的工作能力和工作艺术，顾全大局，维护学校良好形象，努力调动学生的学习积极性，提高教学质量，力争在教学中体现实力，在工作中保持动力，在学生和老师的交往中凝聚合力。
尊敬的各位领导、各位老师：我有信心有决心搞好英语教学工作，为教育事业奉献自已的一份光和热。

trust and love
good evening, everyone!
throughout my years of being a student, i’ve had many teachers. none of them are the same, but the one that i’ll never forget and will always miss is my chinese bilingual teacher in the middle school i attended in seattle, ms. ho. she was a skinny, but stylish lady in her 50s. she was different from all the other teachers because she gave me something unforgettable.
ms. ho and i became friends right in the first semester i was in that middle school. at the same time, i was having a really hard time with my subjects. since i had just transferred from a bilingual school, where i had stayed for two months after arriving in the us, my english was horrible; my average grade was below c. i almost thought it impossible to learn english. then, one day she told me she strongly believed that i was capable of controlling my life, and i would be just fine. she said that she found we were much alike: both were stubborn, kind-hearted and a little bit simple-minded. she believed that i had the quality of becoming wise. she even said that she didn’t have any worries about me, about my not learning english. with her encouragement, i found the strength within myself and began to desire to work even harder. as a result, i soon proved her right, and at the end of the semester, i got a 3.8 average grade.
today, i still keep in touch with her, and she still tells me how she believes in me. sometimes, i’d think back, and wonder how i could handle all those things if it wasn’t for her encouragement and trust. could i be the person i am today? then, it struck me: what we need has always been trust and love of others; because these things inspire us to do our best, and to live our life to its fullest.
to sum up, i’d like to say to all of you: let us all appreciate trust and love of others and achieve our full potential in our life!

我刚到那所初中的第一个学期，可谓举步维艰。当时我是从一所双语学校转入那所公立普通学校的。那时，我刚到美国两个月，英语差到无法与人沟通。在双语学校中的`各科平均成绩在c以下。就在我对学习英语快要失去信心的时候，在学校中几个星期的时间却让我与何老师成为了朋友。在我灰心泄气的时候，何老师对我说，她非常相信我的能力，一切都会好起来的。她说她觉得我们很相似，我有那种克服困难的能力，更不要说学英语这个问题了。在她的鼓舞下，我找到了努力的欲望。结果，我验证了她所说的话。学期末，我的平均成绩上升到了3.8。12
