In addition，one is less likely to be under great pressure from career，family and health problems when young. Therefore，a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life. Of course，we all know：no pains，no gains.

If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us，it is impossible to achieve any goals. As students，we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future.

The topic of my speech today is “Do trust us—a generation born in the 90s”。

Living in an environment full of fierce competition， we， a generation born in

the 90s， are faced with more problems in entering higher schools and getting employed。 Under these circumstances， we are developing our special manners and values， which has raised people’s concern。

They worry we care too much about ourselves and are unwilling to cooperate with others， which makes it hard for us to achieve success in whatever we do。 Besides， they consider us as lacking in perseverance， and this is what it takes to do any job well。 Without it， we may easily give up in time of difficulty。 They are also concerned that we are so eager to win instant fame that we follow fashion blindly， which will in turn ruin our values and future。

However， we， a generation born in the 90s， have our own advantages despite some weaknesses。 Firstly， we have the courage to meet challenges and take risks， which helps realize our dreams。 In addition， we are quick—minded and creative。

We can do our work more efficiently。 Of course， we still need to learn more from those experienced。 Please do trust us！

today i am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. what is success? it is what everyone is longing

for.sometimes success would be rather simple. winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now i am

however, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very

complicated. is fortune success? is fame success? is high social status success? no, i don’t think so. i believe success is the realization of people’

s hopes and ideals.nowadays, in the modern society there are many people

who are regarded as the successful. and the most obvious

characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. so most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. but the problem is wether it is real success. we all know there are always more money, higher position and better

condition in front of us. if we keep chasing them, where is the end? what will satisfy us at last? therefore, we can see, to get the real success we must need something inside, which is the realization ofpeople’ hopes and ideals.

what is success? everyone has his own interpretation as i do. but i am sure

1)开始时对听众的称呼语 最常用的是 Ladies and gentlemen，也可根据不同情况，选用 Fellow students, Distinguished guests, Mr Chairman, Honorable Judges(评委)等等。

When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

last september i left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey of ten hours, i came to this dream campus with great expectation and excitement.

whenever i recall the past days, so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. but what impressed me most is a night when i got a stomachache during the first days. i had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. they were so friendly and warm-hearted. they gave me the pills and reminded me of having more hot water. i recovered soon and i thanked them from the bottom of my heart because they brought me the warmth of home.

our college is a famous academic center. the teaching staff are all learned professors. many of them are world-wide known for their wide range of knowledge and charming personality. i respect my teachers! i admire my teachers! i love my teachers! various activities are carried here. they not only bring me happiness but also improve myself. i meet with a lot of classmates and make a large number of friends. when i feel upset, the will give me a hand; when i am happy, i will share with them. the library has a large collection of books and i always lose myself in it. i believe they will benefit me a lot and are to broaden the roads of my future.
